As of July 8, 2022, 124 Alaska Territorial Guard veterans rest in unmarked graves at the Belmont Point Cemetery in Nome. The state of Alaska Office of Veterans Affairs is working with local community partners, to include the local Veterans of Foreign War Post, to ensure the graves are marked in recognition of the veteran’s service.
