JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska - An Alaska Air National Guard C-17 Globemaster III assigned to the 144th Airlift Squadron, 176th Wing, siages on the flightline at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, April 10, 2025, before departing to Kodiak, Alaska, for a training mission with the AKANG’s 212th Rescue Squadron. Pararescuemen of the AKANG’s 212th Rescue Squadron, who are among the busiest combat search and rescue operators in the world, executed a low landing jump from the C-17 into Chiniak Bay near Kodiak, Alaska, to conduct water personnel recovery and rescue training.
