124th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment
April 26, 2024 | 5:07
The Georgia Army National Guard Safety Office hosted their 10th annual Joint Parachute Operations Mishap Preventative Orientation Course Enhanced (POMPOC-E) April 17 - 26, 2024, at the Air Dominance Center, Savannah, Georgia and the Plantation Airpark, Sylvania, Georgia. POMPOC-E is a two week-long course that trains airborne personnel, riggers, jumpmasters, safety officers, and commanders from U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, and U.S. Army and Air National Guard units on safely conducting airborne operations.
The third phase, Static Line Hands-on Training and Updates, provided in-depth analysis of trends, procedures and discussion of safe airborne operations. At the end of the third phase, qualified personnel conducted static line airborne jumps out of C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globetrotter III cargo planes. Additionally, free fall airborne jumps were conducted out of a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.
