Hurricane Sandy Relief: Army Reserve Soldiers Pump Out Flood Water During Snow Storm

Soldiers from the 401st Quartermaster Detachment out of Lock Haven, Pa., pumped water out of flooded basements throughout the New York City area Nov. 7 while battling a blizzard that swept across the northeast United States. The 401st arrived in New York Nov. 5 and have so far pumped more than 7,000 gallons of water out of schools, community centers and government housing districts in Long Beach and the Rockaways, two New York City area communities structurally crippled by Hurricane Sandy.
