The California National Guard, in support of Cal Volunteers and other partner agencies, reached 100 million meals packed and distributed across the state! After starting food bank operations in March 2020, the state has reached a historic milestone. Starting in Sacramento and then stretching out to more than two dozen food banks over the months since, Cal Guard Soldiers, Airmen, State Guardsmen, and Cal Volunteers worked diligently to maintain this essential program supporting the community. Cal Guardsmen filled various food bank roles, helping to assure the California community doesn’t go hungry. This video commends all Cal Guardsmen and Cal Volunteers who put their own sacrifices aside. (U.S. Army National Guard video by Staff Sgt Eddie Siguenza)
