Operation Elk River Spill - Water Testing
130th Airlift Wing

Members of the West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee and D.C. National Guards work with West Virginia state officials and members of West Virginia American Water in an effort to test the water system after a chemical spill left nine counties in the state without drinkable water. The interagency group developed a plan to collect and test samples of the water from the effective counties to ensure the safety of the water for its residents.
