Forward Into Dawn: JGSDF Reserve Component Observes Total Army Integration in Action
U.S. Army Japan
June 18, 2016 | 3:20
Lead/Summary: Members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Reserve Component visited Sagami Depot, Japan, June 18 to observe their U.S. Army Reserve counterparts conduct training operations during Imua Dawn, a Command Post Exercise designed to test the capabilities and effectiveness of Maneuver Enhancement Brigades. Their tour included special guest presentations from key leaders of three premiere Army Reserve units: the 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, the 9th Theater Support Command, and the Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan. Army Sgt. John Carkeet highlights the Army Reserve’s pivotal role in Imua Dawn and its continuing mission to promote peace throughout the Pacific by fostering mutual respect, understanding and commitment with its Japan Ground Self-Defense Force partners.
