On March 20, 2022, an Air and Marine Operations Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft (MEA) crew was on a maritime border security patrol in the southern area of operation. The crew detected a 20-ft motorized chug heading northwest five miles north of Cay Sal Island, Bahamas. There were four visible persons on board the chug, and the vessel appeared to be taking on water. The MEA crew contacted U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) partners and maintained surveillance of the chug until it was relieved by another USCG air asset. The Coast Guard Cutter Kathleen More was vectored to the chug. Four Cuban Migrants were apprehended without incident.
