Distinguished officials and citizens celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Barkley Dam Aug. 20, 2016 with fanfare and remembrances at the Badgett Playhouse Theater in Grand Rivers, Ky. They shared stories and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kentuckians who relocated to make way for the lake behind the dam, and highlighted Vice President Alben W. Barkley, the namesake of the dam.
