Spc. Brendan Barker, a mortarman with Charlie Company, 2nd Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard speaks about his experiences while training in the box, a simulated desert battlefield at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California Aug. 18. Barker and the other members of the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team returned to the Rotational Units Bivouac Area of the National Training Center Aug. 17 after concluding their field training.
