I'm Corporal Tim Smithers with your Marine Minute.
Marines with Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division concluded exercise Samurai, Jan. 26. During the five-day exercise Marines learned the fundamentals of constructing a command center, securing and surveying areas and convoying to different locations to set up small and very mobile camps.
Also in the News,
Marines and the Japan Ground Self Defense Force Soldiers are conducting mobile beach head patrols during exercise Iron Fist 2018. The patrols test the services knowledge on perimeter security and mine clearing.
Also in the Corps,
Marines with 1st Battalion, 24th Marines engaged, 4th Marine Division engaged in exercise Nordic Frost at Camp Ethan Allen Training Site in Jericho, Vermont. Jan. 21. Marines demostrated how to properly employ their cold weather gear. Utilizing the gear and the training that was given the Marines were able to endure negative temperatures in the mountainous terrain.
