Walk-through tour of Wallace Creek Fitness Center Hurricane Shelter
Marine Corps Installations East
June 19, 2020 | 1:49
Wallace Creek Fitness Center will be the site for one of three hurricane shelters on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in the event of a destructive weather event in 2020, and the only shelter available to accommodate pets and personnel with COVID-19 issues. U.S. Marines with Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations East-Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune explain how operations will work for shelter seekers at Wallace Creek Fitness Center during a destructive weather exercise on MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, June 17, 2020. MCB Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station personnel activated their respective Emergency Operations Centers, staged required equipment and exercised shelter operations while adhering to COVID-19 procedures during the exercise.
