DCGS-A Change of Charter
Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare & Sensors
July 11, 2018 | 1:12
ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Maryland – The acquisition program for the Army’s flagship intelligence system changed leadership July 11.
Col. Thomas H. Nguyen accepted the Distributed Common Ground System – Army (DCGS-A) charter from Col. Robert M. Collins during a ceremony in the Myer Auditorium.
COL. Collins led a staff of more than 100 military and government civilian personnel as well as hundreds of support contractors worldwide, who develop, acquire, and field the Army’s flagship intelligence system in echelons from service component command to battalion and in every theater of operations. His successful leadership of two Acquisition Category I Major Automated Information System programs, valued at $7.7 billion in total life cycle costs, plus three Acquisition Category III programs, positively impacts the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of approximately 28,000 Soldiers and 3,800 civilian personnel assigned to intelligence duties throughout the world. In doing so, his leadership enhanced the situational awareness and decision-making capabilities of commanders ranging from the tactical to strategic levels.
