AH-1 Super Cobras provide close air support for experimental technology
U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific
July 13, 2014 | 0:23
Two U.S. Marine AH-1 Super Cobras provide simulated close air support for the Marine Air Ground Task Force Enabler-Light (ME-L) which provides a company level company level command operations center. The ME-L received word that an enemy for had their location dialed in for enemy fire and was able to move and set up their COC within 30 minutes to a new secure location. This simulation showed the ME-L's and Marines capability with to quickly move to an alternate location in a short period of time. The ME-L is one of many new technologies that the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab was experimenting with at the Kahuku Training Area on the island of Oahu in Hawaii on July 13, 2014. Tyger are multiple technologies being tested during RIMPAC, the largest maritime exercise in the Pacific region. This year's RIMPAC features 22 countries and around 25,000 people.
