Doc Kent Competition
2nd Marine Division
Aug. 2, 2022 | 1:01
U.S. Navy Sailors from 2d Marine Division compete in the Doc Kent Competition on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Aug. 2-4, 2022. The three-day competition showcases the capabilities of executing tactical combat casualty care in austere environments by utilizing various evacuation platforms to move from point of injury to higher echelons of care.
This is the third iteration of the competition; the purpose remains the same: to identify the "best of the best" within the Division's enlisted medical personnel. Amphibious assets were incorporated to showcase a bolstered capability for the execution of prolonged casualty care and fresh whole blood transfusion. This competition increased the corpman's ability to prolong life beyond tactical combat casualty care.
This competition is dedicated to Hospitalman Aaron A. Kent, 28, who was a part of the 2d Marine Division in 2005 when he was killed in action during combat operations near Fallujah, Iraq. (U.S. Marine Corps video by LCpl. Justin Brown)
