U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command and soldiers from 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment prepare to support the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief effort in response to Hurricane Matthew, Oct. 5, 2016. The service members of SPMAGTF-SC and 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment are part of Joint Task Force Matthew, a U.S. Southern Command-directed response team deployed to support U.S. disaster relief operations in the Caribbean in response to Hurricane Matthew.
