180626-N-CZ893-3008 PEARL HARBOR (June 26,2018) Ships enter Pearl Harbor June 26, 2018 in preparation for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. In order, the four ships are: French Navy frigate FS Prairial (F731), Royal Australian Navy multi-product replenishment oiler HMAS Success (OR 304), Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer helicopter ship JS Ise (DDH 182), and the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Twenty-five nations, more than 45 ships and submarines, about 200 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world's oceans.
