March 14, 2021 | 4:06
U.S. Army Soldiers from the 223rd Military Intelligence Battalion, California National Guard, return home after over two months from Washington, D.C. where they were deployed prior to the presidential inauguration. The unit remained in place to protect and defend the lives, property and rights of all American. A C-130J aircraft assigned with the 146th Airlift Wing flew the Soldiers to Moffett Air National Guard Base, California, home of the 129th Rescue Wing on March 14, 2021. Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Smiley, Director, Joint Staff of the California National Guard, greeted the returning Soldiers. The service members also received a warm welcome and a hot meal after the six-hour flight. Four chartered busses transported the Soldiers back to their armory and their families in San Francisco, California, escorted by members of the Patriot Guard Riders and the American Legion Riders.
