Alaska Army Guard Aviation unit supports UAA ROTC field training exercise

The University of Alaska Army ROTC, Seawolf Detachment conducted an aerial insertion and field training exercise at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska Dec. 2. The training validated critical training objectives, tested cadet tenacity and forged team unity. 

The University of Alaska Anchorage Army ROTC program is a cooperative effort between the U.S. Army, the Alaska Army National Guard and the University of Alaska Anchorage to educate, train and prepare students to serve as officers in the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard. 

The Alaska Army National Guard’s General Support Aviation Battalion routinely trains with all branches of the military as well as civilian agencies to increase its operational interoperability and to be ready for a wide range of federal and state missions.
